Journey of Run for Diversity
Diversity Inclusion Belongings
#DIBs
Recruitment has been evolving with time. There was a time when Gender Diversity in workplace was only a thought process though today there is a lot of hullabaloo over Gender Diversity in corporates but in practicality it still doesn't get the attention it deserves. It appears to be more of a cosmetic representation of the corporate objectives on Gender diversity projecting to the government and societies that we care about the Female Gender.
Still the representation of women in the workforce remains an element of discussion. The representation of the women across the levels in industry is not healthy.
For the last few years, companies have reported that they are highly committed to gender diversity but that commitment has not translated into meaningful progress . Though a handful of corporate have taken initiatives to bring in balanced Gender Diversity but still lot has to be done to have a balanced ratio of male to female in the workforce.
While the inclusion of Women in top leadership roles is on the rise, the process is indeed sluggish, it is limited to the dated approach of ticking the diversity box
We can't have diversity without inclusion and belonging.
Diversity cannot work without Inclusion and ‘Diversity & Inclusion' cannot sustain without Belonging. A sense of belonging is the heartbeat of inclusion and applies to all employees worldwide

#Belongings The Next Evolution of Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity cannot work without Inclusion and ‘Diversity & Inclusion' cannot sustain without Belonging.
A sense of belonging is the heartbeat of inclusion and applies to all employees worldwide.
Let's explore why belonging resonates so much across cultures, what makes people feel like they belong, and how companies can foster a sense of belonging.
Belonging reflects a deep sense of mental and emotional safety that employees can feel and be their own self without the fear of being judged for who they are.
According to LinkedIn's ex CHRO Pat Wadors Diversity & Inclusion has different connotations across geographies & cultures but the need for belonging in workplace is inherent and universal.
Belonging can serve as an anchor for Diversity and Inclusion
Organizations across globe have been putting a lot of thrust on the idea of Diversity and inclusion in their Workforce with an emphasis on gender, race, age, sexual orientation, physical ability etc.
But the concept of belonging is powerful across cultures and countries.
"Belonging has resonated globally," Pat says. "It's the one thing you'll find that doesn't polarize. Belonging just pulls the team together. That sense of community is central to every culture—it's part of our DNA".
Having a sense of belonging is a basic human need, it's also an internal motivator that pushes us to be involved in our environment. Hence organizations need to foster an environment and practise where Diversity & Inclusion is the way of Life whereby employees have a feeling of Belonging
How Organizations can foster Belonging?
It should be central to the overall People Policy of an Organization.
